Research

Ce travail préparatoire a été réalisé dans le cadre d'une commande de vitraux pour la chapelle du Collège de l'Abbaye de Saint-Maurice en Valais. Cette chapelle est remaniée par l'architecte Adolphe Guyonnet au cours de l'année 1926. La commande des vitraux est adressée à Marcel Poncet, par l'intermédiaire de son frère le Chanoine Louis Poncet. L'artiste réalise de petits vitraux en simples carreaux de verres jaunes et or à l'antique, avec de petits panneaux comprenant cinq Docteurs de l'Église traités en noir comme des gravures, en alternance avec des médaillons décoratifs. Le reste de la décoration est réalisée par des membres du groupe de Saint-Luc (PONCET, 1926, pp. 147-149 ; LONFAT, 2006, p. 131 ; REYMOND, 1992, pp. 56, 168).
