    Der einem auch in Bern verburgerten Waadtländer Geschlecht entstammende Friedrich von (Frédéric de) Gingins (17.11.1658–21.4.1741) wurde als Sohn des Josef und der Johanna von Büren in La Sarraz geboren. Der Herr von Orny heiratete am 1. Juli 1687 in Muri bei Bern Anna Margaretha von Wattenwyl (1669–1736), die Tochter Alexanders und Margaretha Steigers. Er wurde Böspfenniger und amtete als Landvogt 1700–1706 zu Moudon, 1727 zu Schwarzenburg und 1728–1734 zu Chillon (HBLS 3/1926, S. 519; Kessel 2016).
    Dieses kleine runde Monolithscheibchen ist analog komponiert wie das Rundscheibchen Viktor von Bürens aus dem Jahr 1686 in Berner Privatbesitz (BE_958) und dasjenige des Berner Glasmalers Hans Jakob Güder von 1685 im Schweizerischen Nationalmuseum in Zürich (Inv. IN 189; Schneider 1971, Bd. 2, Kat.-Nr. 687). Es wird sich demnach ebenfalls um ein Werk Güders handeln.
