Die Ovalscheibe zeigt das vor farblosem Grund auf blau und violett gefliesten Boden gesetzte Vollwappen des Johann Rudolf Stähli. Umfasst wird es von einer roten Rundbogenarkade. Deren Pfeiler erheben sich über der leicht zurückversetzten Rollwerktafel mit der Stifterinschrift.

History

Research

Johann Rudolf Stähli (1693–1763) war Notar, ab 1729 Stadtschreiber und 1743 Seckelmeister von Thun (HBLS 6/1931, S. 493; Stadtschreiber Thun 2016).
Die Scheibe weist einige stilistische Parallelen zu den wohl von Abraham Leupold stammenden Scheiben in Herzogenbuchsee auf und kann diesem Aarauer Glasmaler daher ebenfalls zugeschrieben werden.
