Description

Die Vollwappen von Jakob Risold und Johann Rudolf Willading erscheinen vor farblosem, schnurverziertem Grund. Von einem ovalen, violetten Rollwerkrahmen mit brauner Innenbordüre umfasst, fussen sie auf der gelben, von zwei Putten gehaltenen Rollwerktafel mit der Stifterinschrift. Zwei weitere Putten haben sich oben auf dem Ovalrahmen niedergelassen. Dort halten sie die am Bogenscheitel befindliche rote Rollwerkkartusche mit der Löwenmaske.

Zwei alte Flickstücke in der Ecke oben rechts; Sprünge und Sprungbleie; die Verbleiung erneuert.

Technique

Farbloses und farbiges Glas; rotes Überfangglas mit rückseitigem Ausschliff; Bemalung mit Schwarzlot, Silbergelb und Eisenrot sowie blauer und violetter Schmelzfarbe.

History

Research

Jakob Risold (17.3.1582–1628) war der Sohn des Tuchscherers Peter († 1604, nach Kessel 2016 † 1615) und der Agnes Sager. Er wurde Inselschreiber, Ohmgeltner und 1621 Landvogt zu St. Johannsen. Am 9. Januar 1608 ehelichte er in Biel Elisabeth Aprell (*in Erlach), mit der er fünf Kinder zur Taufe brachte. Jakob Risolt starb 1628 an der damals grassierenden Pest (HBLS 5/1929, S. 644f.; Kessel 2015).

Die Scheibe besitzt stilistische Parallelen zu der von Abraham Sybold signierten Scheibe Heimberg von 1624 im Bernischen Historischen Museum (BE_188, BHM Bern, Inv. 2431) und lässt sich somit diesem Berner Glasmaler zuweisen.
