    Description

    Un homme barbu, sa tête appuyée sur sa main gauche se présente en buste au premier plan d’un vitrail. Il apparaît dans un intérieur à l’arrière-plan duquel s’ouvre une fenêtre offrant une vue sur un château et de la verdure. La sculpture d’un saint coiffé d’une mitre et tenant une crosse et un livre debout sous un dais architectural s’érige dans l’encadrement de l’ouverture à droite. Différents objets ornent cet intérieur, parmi lesquels un calice et un pan de rideau rouge et vert, décoré d’une bordure dorée, soulevé et dévoilant une partie de cet intérieur.

    Ce vitrail est l’oeuvre du peintre verrier parisien André Lion. La découverte d’une plaque de bronze figurant le portrait du peintre verrier (https://www.cgb.fr/personnages-divers-plaque-andre-lion-ttb-,fme_611828,a.html) de profil nous laisse envisager que le portrait présenté au premier plan du vitrail pourrait être un autoportrait.
