The Viennese Oskar Kramer studied chemics and philosophy in Berlin, but never finished his studies. He returned to Vienna to work as a publisher of photographic albums and, in the 1860s, became the leading photographic merchant in Austria-Hungary. He was part of the Viennese Photographers’ Association that had exclusive photographic rights to document the Vienna world’s fair of 1873.
