    Research

    Laut Inschrift war Anton Haffner Burger zu Wil SG und Wirt in Rickenbach TG. Er war verheiratet mit Katharina Reuti.
    Die in Grisaille gemalte Rundscheibe ist den beiden 1675 datierten, von Hans Caspar Gallati signierten Rundscheiben im Historischen Museum Thurgau (TG_54, TG_55) in stilistischer Hinsicht eng verwandt. Die ebenfalls Gallati zugewiesene Rundscheibe für Joachim Seiler (TG_309) zeigt eine sehr ähnliche architektonische Rahmung. Die vorliegende Allianzscheibe lässt sich demnach diesem Wiler Glasmaler zuweisen. Paul Boesch erwähnt das Glasgemälde in seiner Publikation zu den Wiler Glasmalereien (1949) nicht.

    Die Scheibe ist unpubliziert.
